Briggs LO206 Parts & Repair Guides
The most popular sealed spec racing engine in karting. 204cc, ~9 HP, hand-built in Milwaukee. The rules keep every engine equal — so races are won by the driver, not the wallet.
Common problems
- Won't start (new engine): Install pulse fitting, fuel pump, fuel line, and filter
- No fuel to carb: Connect pulse line from crankcase fitting to pump 'P' port
- Rough idle / won't hold idle: Adjust idle mix screw, clean pilot jet
- Bogs on acceleration: Inspect carb slide, verify needle clip per rule spec
- Losing compression / down on power: Sealed lower end means full short-block replacement
- Failed tech inspection: Verify every component against current rule set
